While I am a bit sad that the Red Wings are out of the playoffs and done until the fall, my feelings of appreciation were perfectly described this morning on NPR by sports commentator John U. Bacon. President Obama is coming to Kalamazoo Central to speak at the commencement. It was announced today.

Pretty effin' cool!

There are some familar faces on MDOT's new environmental stewardship video. Give it a view, and see if you can pick out all the people you know.

So go here, rate the Kalamazoo Central video as a "5," and tell all your friends to do the same. We have until 11:59 p.m. Thursday to vote.

You may have to go the "next" video a few times to get to Central's, but it's worth it.

For those of you who don't know what's going on, Kalamazoo Central is one of 6 high schools in the nation competing to have President Obama as this year's commencement keynote speaker. The six videos will be narrowed to three finalists based on voting, then President Obama will choose the winner from those three.
