Proof the Internet Holds Endless "Whys?" and WC3 at Toxic Bash '09!
First, this. Why you ask? Because it is the greatest combination of lame, fantastic, and hilarious.
Next, the Shake Weight! Why you ask, again? Because, once again, it is the greatest combination of lame, fantastic, and hilarious. The video is the best - the fear in the woman's eyes is priceless. It takes a minute for it to load, but I strongly encourage you to wait for it.
And finally, Toxic Bash went down this past Saturday and the Winston Churchill Trio rocked the house! Actually, it was the garage and the adjoining driveway. Anywho, it was a lot of fun and Nick and I have gotten ourselves one step closer to rockstardom. A special thanks goes out to Karin who acted as cinematographer, Michael and Anthony for being the most dynamic and dominating talent representation at the show, and Anthony (again) for his inspired (albeit redundant) drumming during the Semi-Productive (a.k.a Taco Flapper) set.
There are a few pictures available over at the MPRS Gallery, so peruse and enjoy. Until next time...
It's time to do it to it... Todd!
Toxic Bash Details
So here are the final details about Toxic Bash 2009. Performers will include accoustic sets by the great Scott Thompson, the ever-classic Ernie Douglas, and everyone's favorite rockers/hooligans The Winston Churchill Trio. Semi-Productive will be headlining with their usual mix of covers from yesterday and today!
If you are on Facebook, you can see the information here.
Otherwise, the official flier can be gotten here.
Hope to see you all there!
Toxic Bash is off, but House Party at Lloyd's is on!
So Lloyd, guitarist from Semi-Productive and Toxic Bash organizer, filled me in on the full details of Toxic Bash last weekend. As had previously been feared, certain uncontrollable factors with his neighbors have made the traditional Toxic Bash arrangement impossible. As a compromise, Lloyd will be having a house party with food, drinks, and live music!
So, all of you who were hoping to see Semi-Productive and The Winston Churchill Trio are still in luck! Both bands, along with some as of yet unnamed others, will be playing in the oh-so-desirable venue of Lloyd's garage. The music is slated to start sometime in the early evening; I will present a schedule, map, and other details as they become available. For now, if you want to enjoy an evening of free, live rock, save the date: Saturday, July 25.
Rock!
I think I'm OK to talk about it
It's been a few weeks, and although I'm still a little upset about the Stanley Cup finals, at least I've stopped my rage-laced ranting about the greatest conspiracy since the Chicago Black Sox scandal in the 1919 World Series.
I hate Crosby. And Malkin. And Bettman.
The Red Wings are moving a lot of players, but I want to go on-record now as saying I believe the Wings will win 60 games this year and make it to the Cup finals. I'd like to believe they'll win it, but we've all seen what can happen when the league, officials, game announcers and television networks conspire to make sure they don't.
But I'm not still mad.
So That Just Happened
I think the Wings did the right thing by not resigning Chelios, and I think Jim Howard will do fine in Ty Conklin's place. But this? Not this. Those are some mighty big skates to fill. Hey, Ken Holland, can I suggest a player that was just released by the Battle Creek Revolution? Great skater with a hell of a shot, and he could leave plenty of cap space!
