ESPN look out

by Nick Email

If you've ever heard me say, "he passes it to the man," or "boom, goes the dynamite," you now can learn the origins of these seemingly out-of-context phrases.

This has to be one of the most painful sportscasters to watch in history.

Hockey Stuff!

by anthony Email

So I have just a few notes on hockey related items...

First, Gates lost in the Semifinals tonight in a close game with the Yaks. We had a good season, and I look forward to returning for more next year (really, that's only about 3 weeks away). Go Gates!

Next, while searching the internets the other day I came across this. Be carfeul, I was trapped there for nearly an hour. It took me a little while to learn the base lexicon (plug, duster, etc.) but it was funny enough to make it worthwhile. Now I just have to try to remember some of those when I'm on the ice! Gongshow Chirps

And finally, there's this: bear hockey. I was a little reluctant to post about this since it raises equal feelings in me of both awe and sadness. Awe, because it is just plain amazing, and sadness because I have a feeling they aren't really enjoying it and the training probably wasn't the most humane. Anyway, check it out and decide for yourself!

And then there is these two, which leaves me with just one question: a Predators jersey?

Hockey Products of Note

by anthony Email

Bob

So my friend and teammate Bob has got a start-up selling a product that reduces odors. I got a bottle for use on my hockey equipment and it is pretty darn impressive. More info about it can be found at whatthesmell.com.

While he was working at a tournament, Bob met another guy with a hockey-based start-up called TwigMagic. It is a product designed to be used with one-piece hockey sticks to improve their longevity. It is very similar to expanding foam insulation and goes directly in the shaft of the stick. I have added some to my Warrior Johnson, and while it feels a bit heavier, it seems to have strengthened quite a bit. I will keep you all posted as this situation develops. For more information, go to twigmagic.com.

5K Pictures Are Here & I Need Help!

by anthony Email

So, the pictures are back from the Big House Big Heart 5k I ran a few weeks ago. They were taken by a professional photographer, and I am contemplating purchasing some prints of them, but I can't decide which ones!

I will post the options below. If you hover your mouse pointer over the image, it will tell you what number you are looking at. Please leave a comment and let me know which one you think is best - your opinions and advice are appreciated!

They are kind of small as they are only the sample photos, but Karin and I are both wearing the white event shirt and black pants/shorts and black undershirts. We are easy to pick out because I (on the right) raised my hands and jumped up and touched the finishing arch. Karin is to the left of me, with a nice big smile. :D
